LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s Minister Michael Gove on Sunday said the door remained “ajar” for negotiations on a post-Brexit trade deal to continue if the European Union changed its approach.
“I think the EU effectively ended the current round of negotiations last week. That was where we were making progress, but the EU withdrew from that,” he told BBC TV.
When asked if the door is ajar for negotiations to continue, Gove said: “It is ajar. We hope the EU will change its position; we are certainly not saying that if they change their position, we can’t talk to them. “
