In recent weeks, paleontologists have reported four new species of prehistoric flying reptiles dating back to the mid-Cretaceous period, around 100 million years ago, all found in Morocco.

Three new species of toothed pterosaurs, all belonging to the Ornithocheiridae family, identified from pieces of jaws studded with sharp teeth, were first reported last month in the journal Cretaceous Research.

The addition of these four new species brings the total number of pterosaurs found in the Kem Kem beds to ten, split equally between dentate and toothless flyers.
